structural engineering and 1 time in the case of masterminds holding a PhD in
structural engineering.

note that, it's the experience in exercising structures that matters utmost.
Also, your specialized subject understanding plays an important part in your
success as a structural adviser.

MTech in structures gives you the structural skill set that's demanded the

Is it obligatory to register in each megacity as a
structural mastermind for rehearsing structures?
The
rule of enrolment varies from state to state and from reg to reg. All countries
in India have a separate structure rule and structure reg to suit the state.
Each megacity in the state also will have its own original requirements and
hence most metropolises in India do have a separate reg.
All
these rules are in line with NBC. still, the utmost megacity rules authorize
that a good structural mastermind should register in each megacity for his
right to exercise in that megacity.
Still, there are some rulings that allow
masterminds to exercise in the entire state of Kerala if you have a class in the
Institution of masterminds (India). The analogous ruling can be sought from
legal bodies through associations in all countries.
It's high time that a license for rehearsing in the entire country is made available for advisers. One can also associate with original advisers in other metropolises and meet the current need for separate enrolment.
3. Is
it possible to shift to structural engineering if I've experience in point
engineering?

design small structures for seismic forces & wind?

to calculate the loads as per IS 875 Part 3 and dissect and design the
structure.
5. Is it necessary to be on point first before getting into
structural design?
While it's good to have point
experience, it isn't obligatory that you need to be in point for times to come to a successful structural mastermind. For appreciating the point demand and the
point challenges and construction capability, it's good to have a strong
understanding of how a point functions. Also being at point allows you to
appreciate reading delineations and inter-correctional collaboration. You get
